Are you a lucky owner of a Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone? Read on to see what are the best Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5…
All mobile devices are supplied with earphones. Earphones have become an indispensable part of our daily lives. Whether it’s for reading, studying, working, playing sports (swimming, lifting weights…) or even when travelling (whatever the means of transport), we always carry our headphones with us.
When it comes to employment, it’s best to choose the all-rounders. Prefer items that can be used as a pedestrian kit. This will allow you to take calls directly without having to unplug your equipment.
A headset with a microphone will be more practical. You will speak clearly to your interlocutor without having to take your mobile out of your pocket.
There are tools that also include a volume control and a button to accept or reject the call.
Senso Bluetooth Headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5
No products found.
The Senso Bluetooth headphones are wireless earphones that you can use for your sport. They offer a good fit and are easy to carry. You can easily slip them into one of your pockets to carry them around.
The materials used for their design are correct and the packaging is complete. There are a lot of accessories included with the earphones, which is surprising considering their selling prices.
The earphones have ear loops and the ear tips are curved for easy insertion into the user’s ear canals. The two earphones are connected by a flat cable and the control buttons are placed directly on the right earphone (there is no remote control implanted on the flat cable).
The earphones are completely black, there is just a touch of red with the logo that is placed on the outside of the shells and the inside of the ear tips. The Senso logo is printed in white next to the brand logo.
The materials used in the design of the earphones are correct, they are robust and will withstand drops and shocks.
Be careful with the cables, however, and do not hang it up on objects. If it is damaged, you will not have to throw the earphones in the trash anymore. You can use the small plastic clip to attach the cable.
The Senso Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 are easy to carry. The around-the-ear design makes them less compact than conventional in-ear earphones, but you can fold them up and slip them into one of your pockets.
There’s also a hard case to protect them while you’re on the go. Once inside they will be protected against scratches and falls. The case is compact and fits in a jacket pocket.
The Senso Bluetooth headphones are equipped with thick, flexible ear hooks, the printed “L” and “R” letters help you to place them in the right direction.
Once placed around your ears, the hooks are not disturbing. To make insertion into your ear canals easier, the earmolds are angled. They do not penetrate deeply into your ears, you can wear the earphones for several hours at a time, there is no discomfort.
To find the right fit, you will have to try the three pairs of silicone ear tips, there are three sizes available (S/ M/L).
For us the pair of pre-installed tips fit our morphology very well, but this will not be the case for all users.
The Senso Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 offer a stable fit thanks to the ear hooks. They won’t fall out of your ears, even when you’re doing intense sports activities.
The earphones are IPX7 certified, which means they will not be damaged by rain or sweat.
The buttons to control your music are placed on the right earphone. The buttons are simple, but responsive. You won’t have any trouble using them.
There is a multifunction button with which you can play and pause your music and answer/end your phone calls. You will also use this button to pair the earphones to your device.
On the top of the right earpiece there are “+” and “-” buttons that you can use to change audio tracks and change the volume level.
The microphone built into the earphones is of poor quality. Even if you answer a phone call in a quiet environment, voices will be muffled, they lack detail, there is also interference noise. In noisy places (busy street) the microphone will not be able to separate voices from the background noise.
Battery life is correct. We were able to use our music for just over 8 hours. That’s more than enough time for most sports users.
To recharge the battery you will have to use the micro USB cable. It will take 1 to 2 hours to fully charge the battery.
The headphones use Bluetooth technology to connect to your device (audio player / smartphone). You can move up to 10 meters away from your source, which is standard for wireless headphones.
No NFC chip, they do not have multipoint connectivity and the sound is out of sync if you use them to watch a movie or play a video game.
The Senso Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 are closed type earphones. The bass is deep and powerful, and is too pronounced as it mutes other frequencies. The midrange is unclear, it’s really obvious in the voices and the treble lacks detail.
At the same time we can’t expect anything extraordinary given the selling price of the headphones. It is rare, even unlikely to find an accurate and balanced sound reproduction on low-end sports earphones.
The Senso Bluetooth headphones are not equipped with an ANC (Active Noise Reduction) system, so they passively block ambient noise. It’s the fit in your ear canals that makes the difference. For us the insulation was not optimal.
If you use the earphones in a noisy place, you will have to increase the volume to try to cover the surrounding noise. Even if you push the volume up you won’t disturb the people around you, because there is not much sound leakage. This is the advantage of a closed design.
Samsung U Flex Bluetooth In-Ear Flexible Headphones
No products found.
As its name suggests, the neckband earphone has been designed to resist twisting. It also promises increased splash and sweat resistance thanks to a P2i coating, found on the Gear IconX or Plantronics Backbeat Fit, for example.
Flex U’s can be used for both sports and mobile or sedentary listening. As the visuals show, the inlets can be joined together via a magnetic fastening system.
However, there is no provision for cable storage. Three pairs of silicone ear-tips (S, M and L) are supplied.
The U Flex Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 is a headset that adapts to everyone’s life. It is designed to function normally in all conditions. It is flexible up to 100 degrees, which allows you to store it easily, in a trouser pocket or a small bag for example.
Samsung promises a premium audio experience. This is often the problem with wireless, the sound quality can be impaired. The U Flex earphones are equipped with bi-directional speakers that deliver powerful bass, deep midrange and clear highs. In the end, both earphones deliver a clean and balanced sound.
To enhance the audio experience, the Samsung U Flex is equipped with a Wi-Fi ambient interference analysis technology.
Yes, the Bluetooth signal can be disturbed by the Wi-Fi in your box for example. Samsung’s “Scalable Codec” technology optimises audio performance for smooth music playback. With the Samsung Level application, you can customise your audio experience precisely.
Finally, the U Flex offers easy access to the smartphone’s smart features. Indeed, it includes a button that can be configured. So you can easily access functions such as Samsung Health, Clock, Favourites and Samsung’s voice assistants. And yes, if you have a Galaxy S8 or S8+, you can launch Bixby from the headset.
The manufacturer specifies that its U Flex Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 benefits from Scalable Codec technology, which analyzes interference from nearby Wi-Fi signals and adapts the codec used to ensure the stability of the Bluetooth wireless connection. Nothing new under the sun, then, since Bluetooth technology is already capable of it.
The neckband comes with a vibration function and numerous controls: two buttons for volume control on the right-hand side, a power button on the same side and a programmable button on the left-hand side.
On the latter, it is possible to assign different functions, such as the intelligent personal assistant (Bixby, S Voice), the voice recorder, S Health, the timer or simply the clock. Programming is done via the Level App on Android, which also gives access to an EQ and some other functions.
The Samsung U Flex connects exclusively via Bluetooth 4.2. The manufacturer does not specify which codecs are compatible, but it is known that the device can be connected to two devices simultaneously.
The autonomy is announced at 10 hours after a full charge. On the audio side, each in-car audio system has an 8 mm tweeter and an 11 mm woofer.
You can also receive notifications, in the form of vibrations, so that you don’t miss a call for example.
What’s more, the U Flex is splash-resistant, ideal for sports or outdoor use.
Mpow 059 Bluetooth Over Ear Headphones for Galaxy S5
No products found.
Mpow is a small Californian company that is gradually making a name for itself in the small world of entry-level audio. I had never tried any of the brand’s products before, so this is a first for me. The first impression is pretty good. We find plastics of very good quality, with imitation leather in the earpads and the headband that seems rather robust.
The assembly is serious, with a few small screws visible on the folding mechanisms. Yes, the earcups fold towards the headband to store the helmet more easily. A small cloth bag is included.
Whether it’s the slider to adjust the headphones or the folding kneecaps, everything is made of metal. It’s quite reassuring about the quality of the material and its durability. The headband is quite rigid, however, so you’ll have to be careful not to fold it too much.
Concerning the look, it’s a rather modern model that should seduce most users. It is possible to choose the color between 7 different colors, from red to blue, through silver, pink or apple green. There really is something for everyone. One can only regret the shiny pastic all around the hoop which easily shows fingerprints.
The headset weighs 220 grams, which is in the good average for a circum-aural helmet. The memory foam in the headband distributes the weight well over the entire skull. Comfort is already assured at this level.
This Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 doesn’t squeeze the ears very tightly, so it doesn’t grip the head like a vice. That said, the fit is still sufficient to do a bit of sport without the risk of it falling off at the slightest movement.
It’s still a memory foam that’s found in the earphones. They cover the ears well and isolate us from outside sounds. We don’t find the same level of isolation as a Cowin E7, but it’s still very satisfying. It is a closed headphone, which will inevitably end up being a little warm after several tens of minutes of listening.
Anyway, at this price level, it’s without a doubt one of the most comfortable Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 I’ve ever tried. Some of the higher-end models are not necessarily as comfortable to wear, so this is a great surprise.
The controls are located on the outside of the right earpiece. In the middle, a multifunction button is used to turn on the headset and pair it with a Bluetooth audio source. The same button can also be used to pause or answer a call. To change the volume, press up or down, and you can skip to the next song or back to the previous one using the right and left buttons.
Operation is simple and rather intuitive. There are not too many “double keys” or long presses, except for pairing. As a result, bad handling is avoided and the handling is very pleasant. You will only need a few minutes to understand how this Mpow headset works.
The headset can be paired with its Bluetooth 4.0 module, your smartphone, MP3 player or your computer. It takes a maximum of 10 seconds for the connection to work and a small LED and an audible announcement tell you that the headset is connected.
The American manufacturer announces a range of up to 10 m between the audio source and the headset and the promise is well kept. It is even possible to move a few meters further away without losing the connection.
This Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 is rather nice, its comfort is very good, and its use is pleasant. All this is very good, but if the sound doesn’t follow, then the disappointment is bound to be great. I’m not going to make the suspense last any longer, I really wasn’t disappointed.
It’s clearly a hip-hop oriented headphone, its look was a good sign and when you listen to it you notice it quite quickly. The bass is emphasized, with a good dynamic. They are precise and don’t drool on the rest of the audio spectrum.
The mediums are present, with notably well reproduced voices and instruments in the middle of the spectrum that are well detailed. Trebles are slightly on the back of the stage. You can hear them but they could have used a little more punch.
Anyway, the general rendering remains rather well balanced, and above all pleasant to the ear. Even if it works best on hip-hop or electro, these headphones are versatile and you can listen to all styles without too many problems. For the price, the sound of these Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 is really good, even if we are obviously quite far from a SteelSeries Artic 7, which will be much better for playing and more precise for the music.
A little word about the microphone that will allow us to answer calls or use the headset for video games. It works well, effectively removing ambient noise to capture only the sound of our voice. My callers haven’t complained about not hearing me, even in noisy places.
The manufacturer announces an autonomy of 20 hours. That may be true if you turn the volume down, but it doesn’t really matter. For my part, listening with a sound level of about 70 or 80%, I had a little over 12 hours of listening time. That’s correct, and even a little better than a JBL Harman T450BT headset.
To recharge it, plug the supplied USB cable into the micro-USB port under the right earphone. It takes about 2 hours for a full charge, which is quite fast. In the meantime, you can continue to use the wired headset by plugging in a jack cable, which is also supplied.
Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth Headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5
No products found.
Present in the communications sector for many years, the latest Bluetooth hands-free kit from Plantronics reveals all the know-how acquired by the company through its models.
Offered at a price of around 65 dollars, the Voyager Legend is clearly not a modest product as its name suggests. It takes up parts of the design of the Plantronics Voyager Pro Plus, and even improves on the already almost perfect Plantronics Voyager Pro Plus.
The idea is that the latest addition to the range offers better call quality, smaller size, improved comfort and longer battery life.
If this is not yet the most discreet model on the market, if you spend your time on the phone in the city or in the car and good sound clarity is your priority, you can go for it with your eyes closed.
The first thing that jumps out at you when you discover the Platronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 is its rather imposing design, especially with its microphone placed at the end of a stem, as we could often see before.
A very nice retro touch but which makes the kit a product in opposition with competitors like the Motorola Elite Silver, the Jawbone Era or the Plantronics M55.
That said, the Voyager Legend remains particularly elegant compared to a Jabra Supreme for example. Indeed, the Legend offers a much more premium look, especially with its solid and well-finished plastics.
On top of that, the buckle is particularly thin but still very intuitive and the controls are very easy to use with one finger. At the base of the loop, there is a Power button as well as a switch to increase or decrease the sound volume.
The boom mic arm is thinner than the Voyager Pro but still very solid and convenient. On the stem there are two buttons for picking up or placing a phone call as well as activating the voice. They are easily accessible, but sometimes they can be pressed while positioning the headset.
By default, there is a gel headset attached to the Plantronics Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5, but the manufacturer wants his product to fit everyone and also offers larger and smaller sizes as well as two foam ear tips. They are very easily interchangeable, by pinching and twisting these to lock or unlock them.
I also liked the fact that the Plantronics hands-free kit is perfect for eyeglass wearers like me. In practice, it is probably the most comfortable product I have been able to try so far.
On the ear, the Legend is quickly forgotten for its lightness, and offers a very interesting feature. Indeed, a sensor allows you to check if the headset is on your ears or not and it deactivates or picks up a call automatically according to your actions.
While I’ve been very complimentary about the Voyager Legend so far, all is not rosy either, and we would have appreciated foam in-ear tips that fit perfectly in the channels to provide better isolation and even more comfort.
Note that a protective case integrating an additional battery is also available and can add up to 14 hours of autonomy on call.
One of the main new features on this Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 is the addition of a third microphone, where the Voyager Pro was limited to only two. In practice, the modifications made by Plantronics are felt and during my various phone call tests I must admit that the sound quality is simply exceptional.
Whether on busy streets, in crowded restaurants or in the car, I could hear my callers perfectly, with a detailed and very clear sound. It was impossible for them to distinguish the fact that I was using a hands-free kit, even though the surrounding noise was still audible. But here again, it’s the same thing when using a phone directly.
In terms of battery life, count about 7 hours in conversation and up to 11 days in standby. Figures more than correct in practice.
Design, elegant, comfortable and above all extremely high performance in terms of audio, the Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth headphones for Samsung Galaxy S5 is one of the best hands-free kits on the market. If you are looking for an efficient and affordable Bluetooth headset, your choice is made.
